"Seam finishing" is a method that seamlessly integrates furniture with walls. When ordering custom furniture, if you make this request in advance, the craftsman will seal the gap between the furniture and the wall during installation - this is called "seam finishing". There are generally three methods: using silicone sealant/gap filler directly, using wooden "finishing strips" combined with silicone sealant/gap filler, or plastering and painting. The benefit is preventing dust, objects, or insects from getting into gaps, making them difficult to remove or clean.

Many people mistakenly believe that false ceilings are purely decorative with no practical function. In fact, due to the frequent temperature and humidity changes in kitchens and bathrooms, concrete quality can be easily compromised and deteriorate. False ceilings help protect the building structure and water pipes, are more hygienic, and provide more even lighting throughout the space.

The walls of many old buildings typically have five layers: concrete/brick, cement sand plastering, tissue plaster, moisture-proof primer, base plaster, and latex paint. "Wall stripping" is the process of removing both the base plaster and latex paint layers. Except for new buildings and old buildings with solid base plaster on walls, this process is generally chosen. While more expensive, it provides better assurance for the durability of the new paint.

If waterproofing work is not performed in the home environment, it will lead to leakage. Combined with Hong Kong's humid climate, this can further accelerate dampness and deterioration in the home. Whether it's new property renovation or old building refurbishment, the water and electrical modifications during the process will damage the home's waterproof layer, making re-application of the waterproof layer an indispensable procedure. The quality of waterproof adhesives and coatings, as well as construction workmanship, directly affects waterproofing quality.

Golden Key performs waterproofing works using SikaTop Seal 107 HK, with experienced plasterers for construction, and our team conducts regular follow-ups. Whether for new property renovation or old building refurbishment, after demolishing the original wall and floor tiles in kitchens and bathrooms, we re-apply waterproof layers to these areas. For kitchens and bathrooms, we apply waterproof layers twice, coating from floor to wall all around, and for bathtub areas, we coat all potentially water-exposed parts. This ensures comprehensive waterproofing and leak prevention. Regarding external leakage, windows and balconies may experience seepage due to improper waterproofing procedures during aluminum window installation. During renovation, you can choose to make modifications or take remedial measures such as installing window sills and applying waterproof leak-prevention agents, as well as replacing and applying new waterproof sealants.
