Both the Hong Kong Arbitration Association and the Hong Kong Institute of Building Surveyors are registered non-profit organizations, while Homeasy is a platform providing renovation matching and services. The guidelines aim to provide a series of standards for consumers to monitor renovation projects. The content is open and fair, facilitating better communication between clients and contractors.
The "Hong Kong Renovation Guidelines" consist of two main parts.
1. Renovation Essentials
Covering the fifteen main renovation processes, including the responsibilities and standard cooperation procedures of all parties, basic construction requirements and standards, additional project charges, and special matters requiring attention.
2. Self-Inspection Guidelines
Providing consumers with guidelines for project inspection, including a checklist for item-by-item verification, allowing those in need to conduct their own project acceptance and assessment.
